I just didn't get that impression. I was hoping they were going to hint at that in the scene where he was crying on his bed, which was a prime opportunity to do it, but they didn't.
Do people really think Amy and the Doctor caused his suicide? Because I think that really, drastically misses the point. Being that you can't cure mental illness with a few incredible, wondrous days, that even if Van Gogh's life was a bit easier, he still would have struggled and hurt. Depression can twist and discard the very best experiences.
