...remember that time when I said that Amy was going to wish the universe back into existence? I'm saying this in part because I want everyone to know that I am smart but mostly because I know that certain people will say that this episode was a deus ex machina and I want to point out that it wasn't because not only were the pieces put in place from "The Eleventh Hour" but also it was possible to deduce what was going to happen. It made sense; it came organically out of the story, deal with it.

Rory and Amy got married, but I said all I had to say about that before it happened.

Can I just say: you win the internets for this statement. This was the least deus ex machina-reliant finale we've had in all of New Who so far. But, you know, haters gonna hate and all that.

It wasn't even a deus ex machina. It was the most cleverly-written finale we've had since the revival, and the only one which managed to tie up all the different plot threads in a satisfactory way (and it was so very satisfactory).

IAWTC. Though I loved that they left a few dangly threads to lead us into the next series. That got me wanting more straight away, not just because of the usual "is it next week yet?" thing, but because, well, I just had to know the rest of the answers!

I just want to say that I love you and I love the way you think to absolutely pieces. I say let the brillance of our brilliant finale outshine the haters!

It was brilliant, wasn't it? It was dampened a little at the end by the wedding for me (I feel so alone in my dislike of Amy/Rory), but even though I was like "Oh, Moffat, why?" I still thought it was a fantastic, well-written episode. This is really what Doctor Who should be about. Forever.

Amy's love brought the Doctor back into existence! I mean really.

I loved absolutely everything except for the Amy/Rory-ness. But even that was tempered by the fact that she continued to hit on the Doctor throughout her their wedding. And she didn't stay in Leadworth! They all left to travel the universe! If we must have Rory, this is the only way I can accept his presence.

Well, once again the big emotional moment was between Amy and the Doctor. Then, she's married -- supposedly -- the love of her life and yet she tries to kiss the Doctor and jokes later on in front of her husband that he can't leave because they haven't had a snog in the bushes yet. Then, the person who makes her laugh and dance like she's over the moon is the Doctor, not Rory. Then, the Doctor is pining from the sidelines as Amy and Rory dance. I just don't understand it. I don't understand the writing choices that Steven Moffat makes.

Meanwhile, my Fez/Doctor OTP has been destroyed quite literally.
